PRANAYAMA(BREATHING EXERCISE)-1

At the outset I firmly believe that this should not be taken as a religious propaganda. I am just trying to bring to your notice something which I feel to be useful. It has certainly a therapeutic value. This is not an original bog for I have no capacity to do that in the subject of YOGA and PRANAYAMA. So whatever I write here is taken from a book naming Ć¢€œPRANAYAMA, Its Philosophy and PracticeĆ¢€ written by Respected Swami Ramdev. For person who is totally ignorant of PRANAYAMA, we will call this as breathing exercise, though PRANAYAMA is much larger than Breathing exercise. Physically, PRANAYAMA appears to be a systematic exercise of respiration, which makes the lungs stronger, improves blood circulation, and makes the person healthier. Physiology teaches us that the air we breathe in fills our lungs, spreads in the entire body, providing it with essential food and oxygen. Not only that the veins collect the dross elements from the body, take them to the heart and then to lungs, which throws the useless material like carbon dioxide out of the body through the act of exhalation. If this action of the respiratory system is done regularly and efficiently, lungs become stronger and blood becomes pure. However, most of the people do not have the habit of breathing deeply with the result that only one fourth parts of the lungs is brought into action and three fourth parts remain idle. Such a situation also affects blood circulation. Several diseases can be averted by regular practice of PRANAYAMA.

SITTING POSTURES FOR PRANAYAMA: - The spine must be kept straight while doing PRANAYAMA. For any reason, if the person is not in a position to sit in the ground, he/she can sit on a chair keeping the back and neck straight. The most important thing is that spine must be straight while doing PRANAYAMA. The therapeutic values of the PRANAYAMA are many. Starting from this blog, all the seven types of PRANAYAMA as demonstrated by Respected SWAMI RAMDEV will be illustrated in form videos. This video is developed by DIVYA YOG MANDIR TRUST, HARIDWAR, INDIA.

The first video here speaks of importance of PRANAYAMA and illustrates BHASTRIKA PRANAYAMA.
